Frontier will be acquiring AT&T’s wireline assets in Connecticut, where we have been headquartered since 1946. We see this as a great opportunity to bring Frontier’s portfolio of products and services and our local engagement model to AT&T customers. The transaction demonstrates our continued commitment to shareholder value by building upon our core product and service strengths. The transaction is valued at $2 billion and is expected to close in the second half of 2014.
During the time from the signing of the agreement until the closing of the transaction, AT&T will maintain management and operational control, including of all policies and procedures. In short, it’s business as usual for AT&T employees, but we are excited to welcome you to the Frontier family when the transaction closes.
Frontier already has approximately 200 employees engaged in the Connecticut community. Our headquarters is located in Stamford, and we are committed to Connecticut and excited to have a bigger presence in the state.
We are proud of our company and our culture, and excited to have you as a part of it. Our mantra is “we can help,” and we believe in putting the customer first in everything that we do. From the CEO to every frontline employee, we are all responsible for delivering the best customer experience in our industry.
We are also proud to have a 100% U.S- based work force, and we were recently named a top employer of military veterans and their families. 11% of our employees are currently or have previously served in the Armed Forces. Our experience in every kind of market – urban, suburban and rural – combined with our operational expertise positions Frontier to be the premier provider of broadband, phone and TV entertainment services to Connecticut homes and businesses. We will also leverage our extensive experience with prior acquisitions to ensure this is a smooth transition and a great experience for you and for our customers.
Many of the approximately 2,700 employees of the Connecticut operation coming to Frontier are members of the Communications Workers of America union. We have lots of experience with many CWA locals across the country, including employees in New York who are members of District 1. We look forward to partnering with your union leaders to strengthen our operations together, so that we can beat the cable competitors and grow our company and continue to secure jobs.
