Internet Help Desk Technician
Mark Payton was sworn in to the US Army on June 18th of 1985. Mark worked as a supply clerk for the 24th Infantry Division and served for two years. Mark enjoyed his time serving his country as a member of the US Army. Three years after leaving the Army, Mark had the opportunity to enlist as a volunteer in the Texas State Guard and served in with A Troop Battery in the 19th Regiment as a military policeman (MP). Mark was a member of the Texas State Guard for more than seven years in various positions such as personnel, training and recruitment and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant during his tenure. Although Mark loved volunteer for the Texas Guard, his family had to move to Colorado Springs, CO so he resigned his position with the Guard.
While in Colorado Springs, Mark for several different companies as a graphic designer, janitor, retail, and sales for Time Warner but was let go after some medical issues . Mark and his wife decided to make the move to Rochester, NY from Colorado Springs, CO, in an effort to be closer to family and to hopefully find a position.
Mark was out of work for his first eight months in Rochester and contacted the Veteran's Outreach Center for some assistance in his search. Mark also decided to attend a career fair that The Center was hosting and this is where Mark was connected with Frontier and eventually hired to work as a technician with Frontier's Internet Help Desk. Mark has a passion for art and his position with the Internet Help Desk allows him to continue to follow his passion. He also is currently teaching an art class for the Veterans Outreach Center in their art therapy program.
