SSL, or Secure Socket Layer, is the leading industry standard for securely sending passwords or credit card numbers through the Internet. To help protect you, Frontier strongly urges its customers to enable SSL in any email client used to send and receive email with your Frontier account.

OK, let's go ahead and get started.

To get started, click on Accounts in the menu at the top of the screen. Next, choose Properties. Click the Servers tab at the top of the Properties window. Verify that the Email username is your full Frontier email address.

Click the Advanced tab. Under Outgoing mail, check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL). Next, update the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port to 465.
