Set Up FrontierNet Lookout

For customized instructions, click your type of email address—citilink, frontiernet or newnorth—and computer—Windows or Macintosh.

Note: The following setup instructions only affect the way that dialup Citlink Lookout users connect to the internet. Lookout customers' email addresses remain in the format: username@citlink.net.

  1. Double click the My Computer icon located on your desktop to open it.

  2. Double click the Dialup Networking icon to open it.

  3. Double click the icon you use to dial into the Internet.

  4. When the connection window opens, in the User name field, enter your username (the part of your email address before the @ symbol) followed by @citlinklookout.net. See examples below.

    For Windows 95/98/ME

    For Windows 2000

Finally, you need to change the username in your dialup connection to username@citlinklookout.net where your username is the part of your regular email address before the @ symbol. You are now ready to safely navigate the Internet with Citlink Lookout filtering activated.

Note: The following setup instructions only affect the way that dialup Citlink Lookout users connect to the internet. Lookout customers' email addresses remain in the format: username@citlink.net.

  1. Go to the Apple menu and select Control Panels.
  2. Depending on your operating system, click to open either PPP or Remote Access, whichever is appropriate.
  3. When the connection window opens, in the User name field, enter your username (the part of your email address before the @ symbol) followed by @citlinklookout.net, as shown in the example below.

Finally, you need to change the username in your dialup connection to username@citlinklookout.net where your username is the part of your regular email address before the @ symbol. You are now ready to safely navigate the Internet with Citlink Lookout filtering activated.
