Windows Live Mail

Be sure you have your full email address and password handy—that is, the primary email address associated with your Frontier account—before taking any further action.

To update Windows Live Mail to use an Application Specific Password:

  1. Generate an Application Specific Password.
  2. Choose one of the two methods below:

    1. Right-click on the account name and left-click on Properties.

    2. Click the Servers tab and enter your Application Specific Password into the Password field under Incoming Mail Server. Then click the Settings button.

    3. Change the Outgoing Mail Server setting to Log on using. For your Account name and Password, enter your Frontier Account Editor credentials, that is, your primary email address and password associated with your Frontier account. Then click OK. Click OK to close the Account Properties.

    1. Click the Send/Receive button and wait for the password prompt to pop up.
    2. Update the Password field with your new Application Specific Password and click OK.

Your email software is now ready to use the Application Specific Password.
