Once you've followed the instructions to set up your Frontier email account in the email program of your choice (see Set Up Email in Other Programs), you'll need to follow these instructions to enable SMTP authentication. SMTP Authentication is a security measure that dramatically cut down on spam when it was introduced many years ago. You will need to enable SMTP Authentication to use your Frontier email account with your email software (unless you are using web-based email, such as Frontier Webmail, AOL, Excite, Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail).

For instructions, choose your type of email software: Eudora, IncrediMail, Macintosh Entourage, Macintosh Mail, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Windows Mail, Mozilla Mail, Netscape, Outlook Express, Pegasus Mail, Thunderbird, or Windows Live Mail.
