FiOS® Internet Router

To view or change your router settings, you must know your router's username and password:

For Actiontec WR424 Rev E & F Routers:

  • The default username is admin and the default password is password (all lower case).
  • When you log in for the first time, you'll be asked to create a new username and password.
  • Keep your customized username and password in a safe place! You'll need them to access the Mega Control Panel in the future.

For Actiontec WR424 Rev I Routers:

  • The default username is admin and the default password is on the label located on the back of the router (see image below).

  • You can either create a unique username and password or keep the default.
  • Keep your customized username and password in a safe place! You'll need them to access the Mega Control Panel in the future.

To change your FiOS® Internet Router's password:

  • Open your web browser and go to  http://192.168.1.1.
    Note: If you have trouble connecting to your router with your web browser, make sure your computer is configured to Obtain an IP Address Automatically.
  • Enter the Default User ID (admin) and the Default Password (password or password1) on the login page.
    Note: If you have already changed your password then enter your personalized password.
  • Click Advanced > Users > Administrator. This brings you to the User Settings screen.
  • Go to the General section to change your password.
