Upload Using a Browser

Using a browser such as Internet Explorer, you can upload your web site elements. This example shows you how to upload an image file with Internet Explorer.

  1. Open Internet Explorer:
    • For @frontier.com email addresses, type ftp://username@myplace.frontier.com, with your chosen username, into the address bar.
    • For @frontiernet.net, @citilink.net, @newnorth.net, gvni.com email addresses, type ftp://username@frontiernet.net, with your chosen username, into the address bar.
    • For @epix.net email addresses, please use an FTP program to upload your files.
  2. Type your User Name and Password into the Login As window.

    Log in to your Frontier account

  3. Once you're connected to the FTP site, you'll see two folders: public_ftp and public_html. Click to open the public_html folder.

    Go to your public_html folder

  4. Copy or drag the picture you want to upload to the public_html folder. You (and others) can now view this image online.

    Find and select your image or file on your computer

  5. To access your image online, launch Internet Explorer (or open a new tab):
    • For @frontier.com email addresses, type http://myplace.frontier.com/-username/picturename.extension, with your chosen username and picture name, into the address bar.
    • For @frontiernet.net, @citilink.net, @newnorth.net, @gvni.com email addresses, type http://www.frontiernet.net/-username/picturename.extension, with your chosen username and picture name, into the address bar.

      Now your file is in your public_html folder

You will now be able to view your picture:
