Call Trace

If you receive a nuisance or threatening phone call, you can identify the source of the call and activate a trace record. Call Trace must be used immediately after you receive a call you want to trace.

Use Call Trace
  1. Immediately press and release switch hook and listen for special dial tone. (Already hung up? Listen for normal dial tone.)
  2. Press 5 7 and listen for a confirmation announcement. In some areas you will hear instructions to follow.
Exception: Seneca Gorham and Rochester, press 6 4.
  3. Hang up.
  4. Contact Frontier customer service within 10 days. Frontier will be able to provide your local law enforcement with date and time of traced call. Frontier cannot release traced numbers to customers.
