How to Program Your FiberOptic TV / FiOS TV Remote

If you're a new FiberOptic TV / FiOS® TV customer, this is how to get your remote to work with your Set-Top Box. Use either of the methods listed below. The step-by-step instructions show you how.

Code Search method
  1. Turn on your TV and Set-Top Box.
  2. Press and hold both OK and LIVE TV buttons, then release both at same time. The red LED light blinks twice and stays on.
  3. Press and hold PLAY Play button on your remote while the remote control tries different TV codes. The red LED light blinks.
  4. When your TV turns off, release PLAY Play button on your remote immediately.
  5. Turn on the TV by pressing TV Power TV power button on your remote then press VOL+ and VOL- to see if the TV responds. Also test MUTE and A/V. If any button doesn't work, press and hold until it does.
  6. Press OK to save code programming. The red LED light blinks 3 times and turns off. You have successfully programmed remote control for your TV.
Manual method
  1. Turn on your TV and Set-Top Box.
  2. Locate the 3-digit code for your TV brand on page 2 of the  TV Remote User Guide. Can't find your code? Use the Code Search method instead.
  3. Press and hold both OK and 0 until the red LED light on remote blinks twice and stays on.
  4. Enter the 3-digit TV code. The red LED light blinks twice and stays on.
  5. Press and release the CH+ button repeatedly* until your TV turns off.
*Note: Some TVs respond slower than others. Allow at least 1 second between button presses.
  6. Turn on your TV by pressing TV Power TV power button on your remote then press VOL+ and VOL- to see if TV responds. Also test MUTE and A/V. If any button doesn't work, press and hold until it does.
  7. Press OK to save code programming. The red LED light blinks 3 times and turns off. You have successfully programmed remote control for your TV.

If you have problems with either method, check the following:

  • If the TV Power button TV power button on your remote does not work, manually turn on your TV and go back to Step 1.
  • If you press the CH button and the remote's lights flash rapidly, programming hasn't been successful. Go back to Step 1.
  • If the VOL, MUTE or A/V buttons do not work, see Remote Control Troubleshooting.
  • Want to start over? Press the Exit button. The red LED light will turn off.
  • Note: After 60+ seconds if no buttons are pressed, the remote automatically exits programming mode.
