For more help with your remote control, download the FiOS® TV Remote User Guide. Below are several troubleshooting techniques that may help you, too. Most remote control problems can be resolved quickly.
|VOL, Mute, or A/V do not work||
|Batteries dislodged or drained||Open the battery cover and make sure the batteries are properly seated. Press a few device buttons like STB or TV. If the top of your remote flashes briefly, the batteries are working. If the top of the remote does not flash, your batteries need to be replaced.|
|Remote doesn't work with TV||Check that you're using the remote that was set up for the TV you are trying to control.|
|Device not active||Press the device button (TV or STB) for the device you are trying to control to make it the active device. Try to operate the device again.|
|Signal not being received||Something may be blocking the path to the device you want to control, you may not be pointing at the sensor on the device or you may just be too far away. Point the remote directly at the sensor on the device and remove any obstacles that may be between the remote and the device.|
|Device not programmed||To program the device into your remote control, turn your remote over and follow the directions on the back.|
|TV settings have changed||Using the remote control that came with your TV, check that your TV is set to either channel 3, 4 or whatever input mode you are trying to control.|
|Loose connection||Check that the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) or splitter connections are secure.|
|Red LED blinks 5 times when CH+/- and OK pressed||Replace your remote's batteries. Also do this if any of your buttons stop working.|

Note: Resetting your Set Top Box will NOT erase the selections you have programmed into your remote. All settings and selections you have entered, such as device codes, favorite channels, and recent On Demand selections are saved and available after resetting your Set Top Box.
