Get ready for your installation appointment

Before your appointment
Many properties need a fiber optic service line installed from the street to the property. We may need to visit your home or business 2-5 days before your installation date to install the line. You don't need to be present, but please make sure we can access your property.

When your tech arrives
When your tech arrives
Please ensure someone 18 years or older is present to greet your tech at the door.
  • If your home has never had Frontier service before, your tech will need to install a piece of equipment in your home called the Optical Network Terminal (or ONT).
  • Your tech will then assess the best location for your router and run necessary wiring.
  • Your tech will test your internet speeds and verify it is up and running before heading out.

FAQs

Can I change my appointment date and time?

Yes. Please Download the MyFrontier app to modify your scheduled date and time.

When should I expect my tech to arrive?

Your appointment time is an arrival window, and your tech will call you once they’re ready to begin. Download the MyFrontier app to estimate your tech’s arrival time, communicate with your tech and modify your appointment date and time.

Do I have to stay once my tech arrives?

Yes, someone 18 or older must remain at your home for the entire installation appointment.

Why is there a long wire in my yard?

For most installations, a temporary service wire is required. The line is typically buried within 10 business days by a licensed professional.

Will you need to install any equipment?

Unlike many of our competitors, our technology requires that we bring a little piece of our network to you during installation. It’s called an optical network terminal, or ONT, and it converts our fiber signals into signals your home can use.

The best part: You don’t have to share your ONT with anyone else, and your connection point is located at your home instead of down the street.
