Why does my Frontier My Wi-Fi connection seem so slow?

First things first: Try turning your router off and on. This resolves most connection issues. Follow these instructions or play the video at the bottom of this page:
  • Unplug the power cord to your router.
  • Wait 1 minute and then plug the router back in.
  • Wait for the LAN light to be green or blinking green, and try your Wi-Fi connect again.

If that didn't help, then the problem is most likely poor signal strength. Here are a few things to keep in mind if you see a low signal:

  • Appliances (such as cordless phones, microwaves, radios, and Bluetooth gear), wiring, walls, windows and other building materials can absorb or block the wireless signal, resulting in a weaker signal indoors. Frontier My Wi-Fi is an outdoor network, and as such, you will see the best results outside.
  • Other obstructions between your computer and the wireless access point, such as trees and other buildings, can further degrade the wireless signal.

For best signal strength results, move around with your computer or Internet device if possible, and try to find an area where the signal is the strongest or try restarting the device you are connected to.
