Pegasus Mail

You can download the latest version of Pegasus Mail from its web site. To enable SMTP Authentication in Pegasus Mail:

  1. Open Pegasus Mail and click Tools > Internet options.

  2. Select the Receiving (POP3) tab.

    Note: If you receive email from a provider other than Frontier, your Internet email address may differ from what appears in the image below.

  3. Select your Frontier account and click Edit.

    Note: If you receive email from a provider other than Frontier, your POP3 host name may differ from what appears in the image below.

  4. Look at the Server host name field.

    • If your Server host name is set to:
      • pop3.frontier.com
      • pop3.frontiernet.net
      • pop3.citlink.net
      • pop3.newnorth.net or
      • in.epix.net
      make sure that your complete Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink, Newnorth, or Epix email address is present in the User name field.
    • If your Server host name is set to something other than:
      • pop3.frontier.com
      • pop3.frontiernet.net
      • pop3.citlink.net
      • mail.ctaz.com
      • pop3.newnorth.net or
      • in.epix.net
      no changes are needed.
    • Click OK.
  5. Select the Sending (SMTP) tab.

  6. Look at the Server host name field.

    • If your Server host name is set to:
      • smtp.frontier.com
      • smtp.frontiernet.net
      • smtp.citlink.net
      • mail.ctaz.com
      • smtp.newnorth.net or
      • out.epix.net
      click the Security tab.
    • If your Server host name is set to something other than:
      • smtp.frontier.com
      • smtp.frontiernet.net
      • smtp.citlink.net
      • mail.ctaz.com
      • smtp.newnorth.net or
      • out.epix.net
      no changes are needed.
    • If you were not instructed to click the Security tab, skip to Step 8.
  7. On the Security tab:
    • Set Use SSL/TLS security on this connection to Never.
    • Click the checkbox to the left of Login to the SMTP server using the following details under SMTP Authentication. Enter your complete Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink / CTAZ, Newnorth, or Epix email address in the Username field.

      If you are using a CTAZ email address, enter your email address in the Username field in the format of username@citlink.net (replace ctaz.com with citlink.net). Please note, your email address will not change. Next, enter your password in the Password field and click OK.

  8. Click OK at the bottom of the window.
