# Frontier.com — full llms guidance (companion to /llms.txt)

Use **`/llms.txt`** for a minimal rule set. This file adds **site topology**, **robots/sitemap notes**, **fuel-homepage route hints**, and **assistant guardrails** aligned with production as of the last editorial pass (verify live before relying on any path).

For **state and regional marketing** pages only, see **`/llms-local-pages.txt`**.

## 1. What frontier.com is (high level)

- **Residential marketing & shop:** plans, deals, fiber story, availability checkers, local/state pages (`/local/...`), help content, registration/login.
- **Logged-in experience:** account dashboard, billing, payments, services/add-ons, profile, voice (FDV) where applicable, Verizon Forward flows where enabled.
- **Adjacent brands / segments (often separate host or path):**
  - Small business: `https://business.frontier.com/` (linked from main nav).
  - Enterprise: `https://enterprise.frontier.com/`
  - Wholesale: `https://wholesale.frontier.com/`
  - Multifamily: on frontier.com under resources (e.g. `/resources/multifamily`—confirm on live footer/nav).

Homepage positioning (from live home): **Frontier Fiber Internet** and related **TV & phone** messaging; navigation includes **Buy**, **Search**, **Sign In/Register**, and segment switches (Residential vs business types).

## 2. robots.txt, sitemap, and AI crawlers

**Sources (verify live after deploy):**

- `https://www.frontier.com/robots.txt` and `https://frontier.com/robots.txt`
- `https://frontier.com/sitemap.xml`

**Sitemap:** Large; may be split or slow—do not assume you ingested all URLs.

### Default crawl (`User-agent: *`)

All crawlers may access public marketing and shop paths unless listed below. **Disallow** patterns (same for every named AI block in robots.txt):

- CMS / admin / upload: `/sitefinity*`, `/sitecore`, `/Sitecore`, `/sitecore_files/`, `/sitecore modules/`, `/Telerik*`, `/App_Browsers/`, `/App_config/`, `/App_Data/`, `/bin/`, `/temp/`, `/upload/`, `/xsl/`, `/Libraries/`
- Wholesale / agent document trees: `/docs/wholesaledocs/`, `/docs/agentorder*`, `/docs/BusAgentOrderPromotions/`, `/docs/FrontierSecure/`, `/docs/washingtonreports/`, `/Documents/wholesale/`, `/wholesale/?*`
- `/role/*`

### Named AI user-agents (explicit blocks in robots.txt)

Frontier publishes **the same Disallow list** for these bots so they do not treat CMS or wholesale-doc URLs as product content:

**`ChatGPT-User`:** Used when a user asks ChatGPT to open a URL. OpenAI documents that **robots.txt may not apply** to those requests; manage **search** visibility with `OAI-SearchBot`, not `ChatGPT-User`.

Policy changes can take **~24 hours** to reflect in some OpenAI systems ([OpenAI crawlers overview](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots)).

**Assistant guidance:** Do **not** treat disallowed robots paths as customer shopping content. If a user pastes an internal or CMS URL, direct them to **Help Center**, **Shop** (`/buy`), or **Sign in** (`/login`) instead.

**YouTube TV / streaming partners:** summarize bundle **concept** only; send users to Frontier’s current partner page and YouTube TV’s own lineup tool for channels by ZIP.

## 4. fuel-homepage (this repo) — route hints

This codebase implements many **authenticated** and **self-service** paths. Examples (prefix with `https://www.frontier.com` in production unless your deploy uses another host):

- **Help:** `/helpcenter`, ticket status `/helpcenter/categories/ticket-status`, order status `/helpcenter/categories/order-status`, support wizard `/helpcenter/categories/support-wizard`, outages `/helpcenter/internet/troubleshooting/check-for-service-outages`, property damage `/helpcenter/report-property-damage`, damage claim form `/helpcenter/damage-claim-form`.
- **Account:** `/account/dashboard`, `/account/profile`, `/account/account-access`, `/account/notification-preference`.
- **Billing & payments:** `/account/billing`, `/account/billing/bill-statement`, `/account/billing/billing-history/activity`, `/account/payments/onetime`, `/account/payments/methods`, `/account/payments/autopay/signup`, `/expresspay/confirmation`.
- **Services & add-ons:** `/account/services`, `/account/services/speed-upgrade`, `/services`, `/services/cart`, `/services/confirmation`, plus add-on SKUs under `/services/...` (eero, security, YouTube TV, etc.—see live nav).
- **Voice (FDV):** `/account/fdv-voice` and subpaths (`call-history`, `contacts`, `settings`, `voice-mail`).
- **Identity / recovery:** `/forgot-id`, `/forgot-password`, `/reset-password`, `/contact-verification`, `/positiveid`.
- **Verizon Forward (when enabled):** `/account/verizon-forward/eligibility`, `/account/verizon-forward/enrollment`.

Some **`/resources/{page}`** experiences may **redirect** to the main dotcom/CMS (`DOTCOM_URL` at build/runtime)—if a path 302s, follow the **destination** URL for canonical content.

## 5. Claims, legal, and safety

- **Regulated / high-risk:** no legal, tax, or financial advice; Frontier’s **Terms**, **Privacy**, and state privacy links in the footer are authoritative.
- **Marketing studies:** if copy cites RootMetrics or similar, reproduce **only** with the **same** disclaimer block visible on the page.
- **Outages:** use the official outage checker (Help Center path above); do not infer outage status from forums alone.
- **Accessibility / forms:** some legacy forms exist under `/forms/...`—link to the live form; do not fabricate PDFs or uploads.

## 6. What not to do

- Invent **ZIP-level** or **city-level** fiber availability.
- Quote **price**, **ETF**, **contract length**, or **tax/fee** totals without the user running the live quote flow.
- Extrapolate **Verizon + Frontier** relationship beyond what Frontier publishes on-site.
- Scrape or summarize **disallowed** robots.txt paths as if they were product pages.

## 7. Maintenance

- Re-check **`/robots.txt`** (including AI user-agent blocks), **`/llms.txt`**, **`/llms-local-pages.txt`**, **footer legal links**, and **major nav** after rebrands or acquisitions messaging changes.
- Keep **`/llms.txt`** stable and short; update **`/llms-full.txt`** when new logged-in hubs (new `/account/...` products) ship or crawl policy changes.
- If **training** opt-out is required (allow search only), set `User-agent: GPTBot` / `ClaudeBot` / `Google-Extended` to `Disallow: /` in robots.txt while keeping per-path Disallows on `OAI-SearchBot`—see section 2.
- Owner: **Content + SEO + Legal** should approve assistant/crawler policy; llms files do **not** replace `robots.txt` or Terms of Use.
