Let's check for the simplest problems first.

You have a computer connected to your broadband home router by an Ethernet cable, and the computer is not connecting you to the internet.

Make sure:

  1. The broadband home router is plugged directly into a working electrical wall outlet (not a power strip) and the power cord is connected securely on both ends and you have a green power light on your router.
  2. The cable plugged into the back of the broadband home router is connected securely to your computer.

Can you connect to the internet now?
