Windows Live Mail

To set up your Frontier email account in Microsoft Windows Live Mail:

  1. Launch Windows Live Mail and select Add Email Account.
  2. Enter your Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink, Newnorth, Epix, or GVNI email address in the Email address field.
  3. Enter your password in the Password field.
  4. Enter your real name in the Display field.
  5. Click Next.
  6. At the top of the window, you should see: My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
  7. You'll need to fill in the following:
    • Incoming server: pop3.frontier.com
    • Outgoing server: smtp.frontier.com
    • Your login ID is your full Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink, Newnorth, Epix, or GVNI email address.
  8. Place a checkmark in the box to the left of My server, which requires authentication.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Finish.
  11. To enable SSL encryption:
    1. Click Email Account.
    2. Click Properties and select the Servers tab.
    3. Make sure that you have pop3.frontier.com for the incoming server and smtp.frontier.com for the outgoing server.
    4. Click the Advanced tab.
    5. For the outgoing mail server type 465. Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
    6. For the incoming mail server type 995. Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
    7. Click OK.
