Ready for great TV? Getting started with your DISH® TV service from Frontier is easy. Here's all you need to know:

  • Tune to channel 101—the DISH Network Neighborhood—for a 30-minute program that will guide you through your new services.
  • Get all your technical support directly from the  DISH website.
  • Make any changes to your DISH service with a call to 1.888.742.0239.

Power on & off
  • To turn your TV ON or OFF, press and release the red TV POWER button.
  • To turn your receiver ON or OFF, press and release the red POWER button.
Change channels You have 3 ways to change channels on your DISH receiver:
  1. Use number buttons on your DISH remote.
  2. Press and release CHANNEL UP/DOWN.
  3. Use Program Guide:
    • Press and release GUIDE.
    • Press and release CHANNEL UP/DOWN or PAGE UP/DOWN to highlight channel to watch.
    • Press and release SELECT.
Use correct input or channel Your TV must be set to the correct input or channel to enjoy DISH service—usually HDMI1 and channel 3 or 4. If your screen is black, blue, or snowy, your TV may be set to wrong input or channel.

What can cause your TV to be on wrong input or channel?
  • Changing the TV input to operate a DVD player or gaming system.
  • Changing the TV input or channel using the remote or the TV itself.
  • Pressing INPUT or CHANNEL on the DISH remote when not in SAT mode.
  • A power outage.
Select a Favorites List We've pre-programmed 3 Favorites Lists for you:
  • All Chan—all DISH channels
  • All Sub—all channels you subscribe to
  • All HD—all HD channels available
To use a Favorites List:
  1. Press and release GUIDE until the Favorite List Options screen appears.
  2. Press and release CHANNEL UP/DOWN to choose a Favorites List.
  3. Press and release SELECT.
Exit on-screen menus Press and release VIEW LIVE TV.
Set Closed Captioning Closed Captioning shows a text version of the program on your TV screen. It's helpful for hearing-impaired people, and useful in noisy places like a sports bar.

To use Closed Captioning:
  1. Press and release MENU and select Preferences.
  2. Select Closed Caption.
  3. Select Caption On/Off.
  4. Select CC is On.
  5. Select Done.

Set up Parental Controls Limit programming that can be watched on your receiver to ensure programming is appropriate for your home or business.

To access Parental Controls:
  • Choose Menu on DISH receiver.
  • Enter Locks menu.
