Long Distance Call Problems

Here are 3 possible reasons why you can't make long distance calls:

  • Your payment is overdue so your long distance calling service is restricted.
  • There is a physical problem at a telephone switch.
  • Your Call Forwarding service is turned on.

Please try our Support Wizard to help diagnose and fix the problem. If that doesn't help, contact your long distance carrier (this includes Frontier long distance customers) for assistance.

Prevent Your Phone Service From Being Switched
Frontier can prevent your phone service from being switched without your consent. A "PIC" or "Primary Interexchange Carrier" refers to your choice of Long Distance service provider(s). You can request a "PIC freeze" to prevent unauthorized changes to your selections. When you add this freeze, any attempt made to change your service to a new carrier will be stopped. If you wish to change to a new phone service provider in the future, you must call Frontier and ask that the freeze be removed. This is called "lifting your PIC freeze".

To comply with FCC regulations, Frontier is required to obtain your authorization prior to placing this method of prevention on your account. Please fill out the information on the Local Carrier Freeze Form. Once all of the information is complete, click the checkbox "I Agree" and then click Submit.
