Lock and Sync Secure PWD

If you want to add an extra layer of security, you can lock Secure PWD when you're not using it.

Your device Lock Secure PWD
Computer
  1. Open Secure PWD on your desktop. If you are prompted to enter your master password, it is already locked.
  2. Select Lock in the left-hand side menu.
Mobile device
  1. Tap the menu or "hamburger" icon and the arrowbox icon to lock.

To unlock Secure PWD on any device, launch Secure PWD and enter your master password.

For ease of use, Secure PWD remembers your master password on your mobile device by default. This means that when you open the app to use Secure PWD, you do not have to type in your master password every time. If you use this default option, we recommend that you use a screen lock on your device.

To change this setting, uncheck the checkbox, Remember Master Password on this device. Now every time you use Secure PWD, you have to enter your master password.

Note: For security reasons, Secure PWD does not have access to your master password. Only you know your master password, so keep it safe.

Secure PWD has an auto-lock feature for additional security, and by default Secure PWD locks itself after five minutes of inactivity. You can change the time interval when Secure PWD automatically locks: 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 10 hours, and 1 week.

To set your preferred auto-lock interval on your desktop:

  1. Open Secure PWD and enter your master password if prompted.
  2. Go to Settings in the left hand side menu.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Choose your preferred interval time in the first drop down menu titled Automatically lock after.

If you have Secure PWD installed on either a single mobile device or only on your computer, the personal data you have entered into Secure PWD is also only stored on that device. Syncing devices enables you to have your stored Secure PWD data readily available and always up to date on other devices so no matter what device you browse with, you can access your login credentials anytime, anywhere. Therefore, there's no need to worry if a device gets lost, stolen or damaged. Your Secure PWD data will still be intact on one of your other devices.

Important: If you only have Secure PWD installed on a mobile device and you carry out a factory reset, the reset will also wipe all your Secure PWD data from the device. After this, there is unfortunately no way to get the data back.
