What is Frontier Secure Device Protection?

Frontier Device Protection plans help protect your devices after your warranty or extended warranty expires on your computer, TV or home phone.

How does device protection work?

If your device is damaged, file a claim. We’ll send you a pre-paid shipping label by mail or email to send your equipment to be repaired.

Note: All desktop computers and TVs over 37” will be serviced in your home by a certified technician.

Service fees

An $89 service fee is charged at the time of the claim. There is no deductible with Frontier Secure device protection.

  • The $89 service fee applies to all flat panel TVs, computers, tablets, set-top boxes and monitors.
  • There is a $49 service fee for eReaders and gaming consoles.
Service fee terms
  • The service fee must be paid and received in advance of service being provided
  • You may pay by credit card, check or money order
  • The service fee does not apply to the repair or replacement of a telephone, caller ID unit, remote control, game controller, keyboard, mouse or backup battery

What's covered with device protection?

Frontier Secure® customers may have subscribed to one of the following Equipment Protection Plans.  While these are no longer available for sale, the existing plans have the following features.

Whole home protection plan

  • Desktop and laptop computers
  • Tablets and eReaders
  • Flat-panel TVs (LED, LCD and plasma)
  • Original remote controls and set-top boxes
  • Gaming systems
  • Home telephones (single-line or two-line with caller ID)
  • Monitors, keyboards and mice
  • Routers and modems
  • Up to one device battery

Portable devices are included for accidental damage coverage.

Accidental damage coverage does not include TVs, desktop computers, gaming consoles or telephones.

You do not have to declare which device you want covered until you make a claim.

Note:

  • There is a 30-day waiting period before claims are covered. You receive 30 days of coverage after you cancel your service to reimburse you for the initial waiting period.
  • Your equipment is covered by the shipper if it's damaged during shipping, whether it's being shipped to or from you. We will facilitate the claim with the shipper.

*Must be equipped with Windows XP or newer or Android version 1.6 or newer or Apple operating system version OSX or newer or Linux OS with 2009 publication date or newer. iPad operating system of 4.3 or newer. Excludes homemade computers. ADH—Accidental Damage from Handling protects the product from mishaps such as cracked screens, spills and drops. ADH is only available on laptops, notebooks, tablets and eReaders.

How do I make a claim?

Call us at 866-442-3179 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET, 7 days a week (excluding national holidays) to make a claim on malfunctioning or damaged equipment that’s covered under your plan.

Important coverage details

  • There’s a 30-day waiting period before claims are covered. You receive 30 days of coverage after you cancel your service to reimburse you for the initial waiting period.
  • Your equipment is covered by the shipper if it’s damaged during shipping, and we’ll facilitate any claims with the shipper.
  • You do not need to show proof of purchase, and there is no limit to the number of claims you can make.
  • Frontier Secure covers most makes, models and manufacturers.
  • Each Frontier Device Protection Plan has its own 12-month aggregate claim limit.
  • You cannot pay for an upgrade at the time of a claim in order to get a better replacement product. We repair or replace with like kind and quality.
