Install Your Internet Router

  1. Remove the Internet Router from the box.
  2. Write down or take a picture of the Wi-Fi Network Name (located on the bottom of your router) and Password – you’ll need this later to connect your devices wirelessly.
  3. Determine your connection type:
    • With ONT: If your Frontier service is provided over an Optical Network Terminal (ONT), the ONT box will be located in or outside your garage, basement or located in an interior closet. Your home will have a primary ethernet jack which you must connect with your ethernet cable (provided) to the RED ONT port on the router.
    • Without ONT: Your home will use your regular phone/data jack which you must connect with a green phone cable (provided) to the GREEN BROADBAND port on the router.
  4. If you are also connecting your TV equipment, ensure your router is set up first.
  5. Below you will find a detailed Self-Install Guide on how to connect the following routers:
    • Arris NVG448BQ
    • Arris NVG448B
    • Arris NVB443B

Seeing a solid blue light on your router?

There is a small light on the front of your router which will flash then become solid blue, indicating you are connected to the internet. This may take several minutes. If you see the blue light, you’re done! If you still have TV equipment to set up, please continue below.

No solid blue light after several minutes? Try connecting your router to a different wall jack until a connection is established. Double check your connections, press the power button OFF then ON again on the back of the router. Still no solid blue light? Chat Live. Frontier is happy to assist you.
