How do I activate YouTube TV?

Step One: Locate your YouTube TV activation link

Email inbox

  1. Open the email service for the email address you used during checkout.
  2. In the search bar, type "Complete your YouTube TV account set-up" to find the activation email.
  3. Select the link in the email to start activation.

Text message

  1. On your smartphone, open the application you use to send text messages.
  2. Look for a message from 70994 titled "Frontier: Thank you for ordering YouTube TV. Activate and start streaming now by visiting [LINK]." The link included in the text message will be personalized to you.
  3. Open the text message and select the link to start activation.
Once you select the activation link, you'll be taken to another page where you'll be asked to sign in to your Google account.

Step two: Sign in with your Google account

You need a Google account to use YouTube TV. If you don’t have a Google account, create one here. Then proceed to the steps below.

Note: If you have a Google account and previously used it for a free trial or subscription to YouTube TV, you can't use it to activate your discounted service through Frontier. You’ll need to create a new account here.

If you have a Google account and you've never used it for a free trial or subscription to YouTube TV, you can proceed to the steps below.

  1. Select Sign in with Google.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. An authorization screen will appear, asking for permission to allow us to start, and add, or remove paid subscriptions to your YouTube account.

  4. Select Allow
  5. After you allow Frontier access to your Google account, you’ll be taken to a page that gives you an overview of your special savings and monthly payment.

Step three: Activate your YouTube TV subscription

  1. Select Activate Now
  2. Congrats! You've activated your YouTube TV subscription and are ready to set up YouTube TV on your preferred streaming device.

How many people and devices can use it?

You can watch YouTube TV on 3 devices at the same time. You can share your subscription with up to 6 accounts in your household.

Do I have to be in my home to use it?

No, you can watch YouTube TV anywhere on any connected device and platform within the United States. However, you must log in to YouTube TV from your home address at least once every 3 months (90 days) or you will not be able to access your YouTube TV services.

Can I add or remove additional YouTube TV services?

Yes, you can add or remove additional YouTube TV services at any time directly through YouTube TV. Some restrictions may apply.

Who is eligible to sign up for YouTube TV through Frontier?

New and existing Frontier internet customers who aren’t current YouTube TV subscribers can sign up for YouTube TV through Frontier.

When does my service begin?

Once you've completed your YouTube TV activation, you can begin streaming.

If I have Frontier TV and cancel my service before I sign up for YouTube TV, can I get my old Frontier TV service back?

Unfortunately, no. Once you cancel Frontier TV, you lose access to your TV package and won’t be able to sign up for Frontier TV again.

Are there any discounts when I sign up for YouTube TV with Frontier?

Yes, you may qualify for a discount to the YouTube TV Base Plan if you are new to YouTube TV and have Frontier Internet service suitable for streaming. You can see our current offers and eligibility at frontier.com/shop/tv.

Is there a contract?

No, there's no contract for YouTube TV. It's a monthly subscription, and you can cancel your service at any time.

How will I see YouTube TV charges on my bill?

You’ll find your YouTube TV charges on your Frontier bill under “Other Service Charges and Credits” in the “Details” section.

Will I be taxed on my YouTube TV service?

As a YouTube TV subscriber you may see sales or communications taxes on your YouTube TV monthly bill, depending on state and local tax laws in your location. Tax rates and types can vary by state, territory or city, and are based on current rates at the time of your monthly charge.

If I have YouTube TV already, can it be added to my Frontier bill?

Unfortunately, we can’t add your existing YouTube TV service to your Frontier bill.

What happens to my YouTube TV if I don’t pay my bill on time?

If you don’t pay your bill on time, your YouTube TV service as well as other Frontier products and services could be disconnected.

What can cause me to lose my discount?

You could lose your YouTube TV discount for multiple reasons, including:

  • If you cancel YouTube TV or it is disconnected for nonpayment
  • If you disconnect your Frontier Internet or it is disconnected for nonpayment.

If I lose my discount, how do I get it back?

Unfortunately, you can’t get your discount back once you lose it.

Will I get credit on my bill for YouTube TV service if my internet is unavailable?

No, you won’t get a credit for YouTube TV if your Frontier internet has an outage.

Why is my YouTube TV billing period different from my other Frontier services?

  • Your billing period for YouTube TV can (and likely will) be different than the billing period for your Frontier services. The billing period starts when you activate your YouTube TV service – not when your other Frontier services start.
  • You can see your billing period for YouTube TV within the “Details” section of your Frontier bill, usually on page 4.
  • You will get one bill from Frontier and the bill will show what charges are due that month.

Can I pause my YouTube TV service?

  • Unfortunately, vacation pause is not available with YouTube TV. You can put other Frontier services on vacation and continue to use YouTube TV.
  • Note: You must log in to YouTube TV from your home address at least once every 3 months (90 days) or you will not be able to access your YouTube TV services.

How do I cancel my YouTube TV service?

If I have YouTube TV already, can it be added to my Frontier bill?

Unfortunately, we can’t add your existing YouTube TV service to your Frontier bill. If you’re signing up for YouTube TV through Frontier, you’ll need to cancel your current subscription through Google. Otherwise, you’ll continue to be charged by Google and will be charged by Frontier when your account is activated.

Note: You can sign up for YouTube TV through Frontier with a Google account that was previously used to subscribe to YouTube TV, but you won’t be eligible for the Frontier discount.

What channels does YouTube TV offer?

YouTube TV lets you stream live must-see shows and movies, as well as local sports and news on ESPN, Disney Channel, FX, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and more. To find out which networks are available in your home area, enter your home zip code at tv.youtube.com/welcome.

Can I watch on other devices?

Yes, you can watch YouTube TV on any 3 devices at the same time.

  • TV: Use the YouTube TV app available with your smart TV, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV and gaming consoles.
  • Mobile devices: Use the YouTube TV mobile app on most smartphones and tablets.
  • Computer: Visit tv.youtube.com to watch in most web browsers.

If I’m watching content on one device, am I able to continue that same content on another device?

Yes, if you’re logged in to the same account on both devices.

I’m trying to watch local channels, but YouTube TV thinks I’m in a different location. How do I get help?

  1. On your mobile device, go to tv.youtube.com/verify.

    If you’re not logged in, you’ll need to sign in with the Google username and password you use for YouTube TV.

  2. Allow the website to access your device’s location and update your current playback area.

What are my search options on YouTube TV?

You can search movies and shows by program, network, actor or director. You can also browse the Live TV guide.

Can I schedule recordings?

Yes. YouTube TV comes with free, unlimited cloud DVR storage to record all your favorite movies and shows.

Do I have voice control?

If you use a Google Chromecast 4K device, you can change channels and search for specific channels using your voice.

Is there any equipment needed?

  • You only need an internet-connected device to watch YouTube TV, such as a smart TV or streaming device, including computer, tablet or cell phone.
  • If your TV isn’t a smart TV, you can purchase a Google Chromecast 4K Streaming device from Frontier. You’ll be able to plug the Chromecast into your TV to connect to the internet and watch YouTube TV.

Can I get International and Premium Channels?

Yes, you can order additional add-on channels through YouTube TV. For more information go to https://frontier.com/shop/tv.

What sports channel networks are available in my package?

Many sports channels are included with the Base Plan, and additional channel options are available. Enter your home zip code at tv.youtube.com/welcome to find out which channels are available in your area. Some restrictions may apply.

Do I get local broadcast channels?

As a YouTube content user, can I view my content on YouTube TV?

No. YouTube (a video-sharing platform) and YouTube TV (a subscription TV streaming service) are separate.
