1. Inspecting the site
A Frontier representative will visit your home approximately five days before your scheduled service installation date and create a plan for installing the fiber service line we use to deliver internet to your home.
2. Scheduling work
After their property survey, the representative will schedule the service line work. If you’re home, they’ll talk you through next steps and provide any instructions.
3. Marking utilities
Before we start any work, we’ll contact local call-before-you-dig services to mark the locations of utility lines with temporary, water-based paint or flags.
4. Installing the service line
After utilities are marked, a small Frontier team will visit your home to install the service line. In most cases, the team will dig a small trench to bring the line to your home. If needed, they’ll use specialized equipment to run the line underneath driveways or walkways without damaging the concrete or asphalt.
5. Clean up
Our teams are highly trained and take great care to minimize disruption to your property. However, your grass may show some visible signs of installation for a short period of time.
Congrats! Your home is ready for internet service to be installed on your scheduled installation date.
You don’t need to be home for the site inspection or service line installation, but please be sure to secure any pets and leave gates unlocked to avoid any delays. If you are home during the site inspection, the representative will talk you through the process and next steps before your service line is installed.
Work is typically completed in one day, but it may take more time if our crews run into any issues when installing your service line. We do our best during the site inspection to identify any potential issues beforehand and create a plan for installation day so everything goes smoothly.
If our crew encounters any issues, they’ll try to work through them the same day. Installation could be delayed depending on the severity of the problem. If you’re away from home and we run into any issues, we’ll leave a note or instructions on your door with next steps.
We do our best to coordinate access to neighboring properties during the site inspection, but there are times when we’re unable to reach your neighbors. If needed, our crews will contact your neighbors on the day of the service line installation.
