How to block telemarketing calls

Tired of receiving unwanted telemarketing phone calls? Here are three different ways to help you stop them.

1. The National Do Not Call Registry

The Do Not Call Registry is free to use and backed by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Your registration never expires and blocks calls from charities, political calls, surveying companies and more.

It does not block calls from companies that have a relationship with you. You must ask these companies and groups to take you off their list.

How to register your number online

  1. Go to donotcall.gov and select Register Your Phone
  2. Register your phone number
  3. Enter your email address and check your inbox for a verification email

How to register your number by phone

  1. Call 1-888-382-1222 or 1-866-290-4236 for TTY

You must call from the number you want registered.
