How to install eero as an existing Frontier customer

Are you a Frontier customer upgrading your Wi-Fi network with an eero device? Learn how to install your eero and set up your Wi-Fi network below.

Step 1: Download the eero app

Download the eero app, create an account and follow the steps in the app to complete installation.

Step 2: Install your eero

Select this option if you’re a Frontier customer upgrading your Wi-Fi network with an eero device.

  1. Make sure you’re signed into the eero app.
  2. Gather your supplies. Your self-installation kit should have your new eero device(s), a power cord and an Ethernet cable.
  3. Unplug your current Frontier router and any Wi-Fi extenders you may have.
  4. Connect your new eero to your existing router using the Ethernet cable from your installation kit.
  5. Plug your eero into a power outlet.
  6. Reconnect your Frontier router to power. Leave any existing Wi-Fi extenders unplugged. Using Wi-Fi extenders not provided by Frontier may negatively impact your experience.
  7. Return to the eero app and follow the steps to set up your eero device or any additional eeros you may have. After setup, you can use the eero app to manage your Wi-Fi network.

    Step 3: Disable Wi-Fi on your existing Frontier router

    Optimize your Wi-Fi network by disabling the Wi-Fi from your existing Frontier router. Select the brand of your old Frontier router to get started.

    Actiontec or Arris

    To disable Wi-Fi on your Arris router:

    1. Open your web browser and go to the internal IP address of your device. You can find the IP address and your default login credentials on a sticker on the back, bottom or side of your router.
    2. Choose Wireless.
    3. Choose Basic Settings 2.4 GHz.
    4. Under Status, check Disable.
    5. Choose Continue.
    6. You have successfully disabled Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz.
    7. To disable Wi-Fi 5 GHz as well, choose Basic Setting 5 GHz.
    8. Under Status, check Disable.
    9. Choose Continue.
    10. You have successfully disabled Wi-Fi 5 GHz.

    D-Link

    1. Open your web browser and go to the internal IP address of your device. You can find the IP address and your default login credentials on a sticker on the back, bottom or side of your router.
    2. Choose Wireless.
    3. Choose General.
    4. Choose Disable.

    G1100

    1. Open your web browser and go to the internal IP address of your device. You can find the IP address and your default login credentials on a sticker on the back, bottom or side of your router.
    2. Choose WIRELESS SETTINGS.
    3. Choose Basic Security Settings.
    4. Under Turn Wireless On, choose Off.
    5. Choose Apply to save the settings.

    Netgear

    1. Open your web browser and go to the internal IP address of your device. You can find the IP address and your default login credentials on a sticker on the back, bottom or side of your router.
    2. Choose Wireless/Change Wireless Settings.
    3. Under Turn Wireless ON/Basic Security Settings, choose Off.
    4. Choose Apply to save the settings.

    Pace

    1. Open your web browser and go to the internal IP address of your device. You can find the IP address and your default login credentials on a sticker on the back, bottom or side of your router.
    2. Choose Settings.
    3. Choose LAN/Wireless.
    4. Under Turn Wireless Interface, choose Disabled.
    5. Choose Save to change the settings.

    Siemens

    1. Open your web browser and go to the internal IP address of your device. You can find the IP address and your default login credentials on a sticker on the back, bottom or side of your router.
    2. Choose Home Network.
    3. Choose Advanced Settings.
    4. Choose Configure the Local Gateway Wireless Network.
    5. Choose Begin Wireless Wizard.
    6. Under Wireless Interface, check Disable.
    7. Choose Next.

      What does my Ethernet jack look like and where can I find it?

      Ethernet jacks typically look like a larger phone jack. You can typically find them on the lower parts of your wall. Be sure to check behind curtains, sofas, your TV console, etc. If you’re having trouble locating an Ethernet jack on your walls, it may be found in a panel box in your master bedroom closet, laundry room or garage.

      My eero device is flashing different colors during setup. What do they mean?

      Blinking blue: eero is ready to be set up using the eero App.
      Solid blue: The eero app is connected to your eero.
      Blinking white: Connecting to the internet.
      Solid white: Connected to the internet.
      Red: No internet connectivity.
