Select your software version below for complete email setup instructions.

To set up your Frontier email account in Outlook 2002 or 2003:

  1. Launch Outlook and click Tools > Email Accounts.
  2. Select Add New Email Account > Next.
  3. Select  POP3 and click Next.
  4. Enter your name, your complete Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink/CTAZ, NewNorth, Epix, or GVNI email address, your username (your complete Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink/CTAZ, Newnorth, Epix, or GVNI email address), and password.
  5. Enter the POP3 (Incoming) mail  server name: pop3.frontier.com and the SMTP (Outgoing) mail server name: smtp.frontier.com
  6. Click More Settings > Outgoing Server.
  7. Click the checkbox to the left of My Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication. Make sure LogOn Using is also selected. Then enter your complete email address for the Username, and enter your password in the Password field.
  8. Click OK > Next.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. To enable  SSL, encryption in Outlook 2003:
    1. Launch Outlook and click Tools > Email Accounts.
    2. Click the circle next to View or change existing email accounts.
    3. Click Email Account, then click Change.
    4. Make sure that you have pop3.frontier.com for the incoming server and smtp.frontier.com for the outgoing server.
    5. Click More Settings > Advanced tab.
    6. For the outgoing mail server type 465. Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
    7. For the incoming mail server type 995. Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
    8. Click OK > Next > Finish.

Next, follow the instructions for Microsoft Outlook in Enable SMTP Authentication.

To set up your Frontier email account in Outlook 2007:

  1. Launch Outlook and click Tools > Account Settings.
  2. On the Email tab select New.
  3. If you are asked to select an Email Service, select Microsoft Exchange,  POP3, IMAP, or HTTP; then click Next.
  4. Enter your name, your complete Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink/CTAZ, NewNorth, Epix, or GVNI email address, and password.
  5. Place a checkmark in the field to the left of Manually configure server settings or additional service types and click Next.
  6. Select Internet Email > Next.
  7. Under Server Information select POP3 for the Account Type. Then:
    • Enter pop3.frontier.com for the POP3 (incoming)  server and smtp.frontier.com for the SMTP (outgoing) server.
    • For Logon Information, enter your complete Frontier, FrontierNet, Citlink/CTAZ, Newnorth, Epix, or GVNI email address for the username and your password in the Password field.
  8. Click More Settings > Outgoing Server.
  9. Place a checkmark in the box to the left of My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Make sure LogOn Using is also selected.
  10. Enter your complete email address for the Username, and enter your password in the Password field.
  11. Click OK > Next.
  12. Click Finish.
  13. To enable  SSL encryption in Outlook 2007:
    1. Launch Outlook and click on Tools > Account Settings.
    2. Click Change.
    3. Make sure that you have pop3.frontier.com for the incoming server and smtp.frontier.com for the outgoing server.
    4. Click More Settings > Advanced tab.
    5. For the outgoing mail server type 465. Check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
    6. For the incoming mail server type 995. Select SSL from the drop down menu next to Use the following type of encrypted connection.
    7. Click OK > Next > Finish.

To set up your Frontier email account in Outlook 2010:

  1. Launch Outlook and click File > Info > Account Settings.

  2. Click Account Settings on the Account Settings drop down menu.

  3. Under the Email tab click the account that you wish to update, then click Change.

  4. Perform the following steps:
    • In the User Information section, enter your name for the Your Name field and enter your Frontier email address in the Email Address field.
    • In the  Server Information section, select  POP3 as the Account Type, enter pop3.frontier.com for the Incoming Mail Server (POP3) and enter smtp.frontier.com for the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
    • Click More Settings.

  5. In the General tab, enter a name for the Mail Account, such as your Frontier email address, pop3.frontier.com or Frontier. Then click the Outgoing Server tab.

  6. Select My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use the same settings as my incoming mail server, then click OK.

  7. Click Next.

  9. To enable  SSL encryption:
    1. Click File > Account Settings.
    2. Click Change.
