How to enable Frontier TV and DVR accessibility features

Frontier TV and Frontier DVR offer accessibility solutions for customers with disabilities. Learn how to enable accessibility features for both services.

Enable Frontier TV accessibility features

Your Frontier TV service offers accessibility solutions for customers with disabilities. Find out how to turn on Audible Navigation, Descriptive Video Service and Closed Captioning using your remote control.

Audible Navigation

This feature allows you to navigate through the system using voice prompts. The talking guide is available in English and Spanish.

  1. Select Menu button
  2. Press arrow down four times to select Options
  3. Press OK button
  4. Press down arrow twice to select Audio/language
  5. Press right arrow six times to select Audio Navigation
  6. Press OK button
  7. Press right arrow to select Enabled
  8. Press OK button
  9. Press left arrow to select Done
  10. Press OK button to save

To turn audible navigation off, follow the same steps above, selecting the bottom option Disabled.

Enable Descriptive Video Service

This feature provides a narrative during your show's key visual elements. Narration incorporates natural pauses during program dialogue for a rich, entertainment experience. It may not be available for all channels.

  1. Press Menu button
  2. Press down arrow four times to select Options
  3. Press OK button
  4. Press down arrow twice to select Audio/language
  5. Press right arrow twice to select the Spanish option
  6. Press OK button

Enable or Disable Closed Captioning

This feature subtitles the audio portion of a video program providing on-screen text for dialogue, narration and sound effects.

Press the red "c" button on your remote.

The Closed Captioning icon is present on programming when captions are available.

Enable DVR accessibility features

Frontier® DVR Experience offers accessibility solutions for customers with disabilities. Here are the instructions for turning on Audible Navigation, Descriptive Video Service and Closed Captioning using your Fiber TV remote control.

Audible Navigation

This feature allows you to navigate through the system using voice prompts. The talking guide is available in English and Spanish.

  1. Select Menu button
  2. Press up arrow to select Settings
  3. Press right arrow three times to select System
  4. Press down arrow twice to select Accessibility
  5. Press right arrow to select Audible Navigation
  6. Press down arrow to select On
  7. Press OK button to save
  8. Press Exit button

To turn voice navigation off, follow the same steps above.

Descriptive Video Service

This feature provides a narrative during your show's key visual elements. Narration incorporates natural pauses during program dialogue for a rich, entertainment experience. It may not be available for all channels.

  1. Press Menu
  2. Arrow Up to select Settings
  3. Press OK — You are now at the System Menu
  4. Arrow Right to Accessibility
  5. Arrow Right to Closed Captions
  6. Arrow Down to DVS
  7. Press OK
  8. Down Arrow to On
  9. Press OK
  10. Press Exit to return to viewing TV

Enable or Disable Closed Captioning

Press the * (asterisk) button on your remote.

The Closed Captioning icon is present on programming when captions are available.
