Frontier's public Wi-Fi and hotspots network

What's a wireless hotspot? It's an area with a wireless signal that lets you connect to the internet or any available computer network.

Local businesses often provide a wireless signal to their customers through Frontier's network. Frontier puts one or more of our wireless devices in or around their location, and the business can give wireless logins to give to their customers.

Get Frontier My Wi-Fi

Choose an Amount of Time
When you're at a hotspot, go to  www.frontierwifi.com. You can buy a My Wi-Fi access pass through a safe and secure connection.

You'll have 5 different time categories to choose:
1 hour, 1 day, 2 days, 7 days, 30 days

Make your selection, and you're ready to go online.

Note: Access passes are measured by the hour and are active for the stated time period. For example, your 2-day pass will expire exactly 48 hours after your purchase, no matter how long you are actually online. So be careful how much time you purchase.
Get More Time
It's easy to buy more time. When your pre-paid time expires you'll see an option to buy more time on the  Replenish page of the Frontier My Wi-Fi website.

If you're a Frontier High-Speed Internet customer, you can add unlimited monthly Wi-Fi service to your account for a set fee.  Find out more and sign up today.
Pre-Paid Card
Another way to access Wi-Fi for yourself or as a gift is to buy a Pre-Paid Wireless Data Card. On the back of the card is a promotional code. Enter these numbers and letters in the Promotional Code field on the  FrontierWiFi.com website to access the Frontier My Wi-Fi network.

When your Free 5 Minutes Search & Surf expires, you'll see the option to buy more time at  Frontier My Wi-Fi. Most wireless hotspots will only have a limited number of free logins. If there aren't enough free logins, you may have to sign up and pay for access at our normal rate.
Wireless Signal Is Dropped Can't Send Email
When you move from one place to another, your device needs to reconnect to the best available signal. If this doesn't happen on its own, follow these steps.
  • On a Windows device, access the Control Panel and select Network Connections. Right-click Wireless Network Connection and select Repair.
  • If you are using your laptop's Connection Manager, reconnect with Frontier My Wi-Fi to make sure your device is finding the best access point.
When you're on the Frontier My Wi-Fi network, you may only send email from an email client using Frontier email address(es) and servers. This is for the protection of all our customers and the security of the network.
  • The easiest way to do this is to use a web-based email client like Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, and Outlook.
  • If you can't access your email on a website, temporarily:
    • Change your outgoing server to smtp.frontiernet.net.
    • Add @daypass.wireless.frontiernet.net to the end of your email address. For example, john.doe@corporation.com becomes john.doe@corporation.com @daypass.wireless.frontiernet.net.

You will see this error: Your account may only log in from one computer at a time. (Error #4) if you try to access the Wi-Fi connection from more than one device at a time. To switch to another device, first release the IP address on the device you're using.

If you still get the same error after releasing the IP address on all of your devices, contact the Frontier My Wi-Fi Tech Support team at 1.800.469.6519.
You will see this error: …accounts may not log in to this wireless network. (Error #6) if you try to connect to the Frontier My Wi-Fi Network with a username and password that is not valid for our network, but is valid on a network we manage.

This can happen when a business has their own SSID, or network name. Make sure you're connecting to the right SSID in your wireless utility. If you need to find the right SSID, username, or password, please contact the company who established the SSID.
